We are all Cousins

The generation of Dale, Millie, Sam and Jennie was more than just their immediate families. They had a combined total of 22 siblings which means there are a pile of Bowman, Correll, Koning and Koster cousins out there. Over time the surnames will change through marriage but all are cousins. Hopefully as time goes forward, many of our cousins will chime into this website and share their stories.

In an attempt to put some rhyme or reason to organizing what could become a large group of cousins, I’ve devised a generational code:

  • “Venti” cousins - This is the generation of sons and daughters of Dale, Millie, Sam and Jennie and their 22 siblings. My dad, Dean, is an example of a “Venti” cousin.

  • “Grande” cousins - These are the sons and daughters of the “Venti” cousins, my (Dennis) generation.

  • “Tall” cousins - These are the sons and daughters of the “Grande” cousins. As you can see by now I borrowed the terms from Starbucks but “Tall” kind of fits this generation as many of these cousins are taller than their parents.

  • “Kinder” cousins - These are the sons and daughters of the “Tall” cousins and are typically still a minor (although some are now young adults). “Kinder” is German for children so it seems to fit. Note that I do not intend to use names or pictures of our “Kinder” cousins unless approved by their parents.

In the following sections the cousins will be listed by generation but not in any particular order (due to my skill limitations as a webmaster). “Kinder” cousins will be listed as “boy” or “girl” under their parents section until approved otherwise by their parents. Cousins no longer with us may not be listed in this section. Pets included if known.
